Wednesday June 17

This weekend, we celebrate Father’s Day. Whether the special man (person) in your life is your father, stepdad, grandfather, uncle, brother or someone else, this Sunday is a great time to say “thank you” or “I love you”.

Today we are providing you with a couple of “craft” ideas which you may want to use to make a gift for this special person. Feel free to use the suggestions as they are presented or change them. The pictures below are simple guidelines.

1. All About My Dad (Grandpa, Uncle) page – Ask an adult to help you complete this questionnaire. You can copy the sentences onto some fancy paper you may have at home or use your computer, search online and then print off whatever page you like the best.

2. Find a rock and decorate/colour it with markers, paint, stickers or anything you have available to you at home. You may need to ask an adult to help you if you need to use a glue gun. Be sure to include the phrase ---“My Dad Rocks” or “My Grandpa Rocks” etc.

3. This last idea can be made as a card. Take a piece of white paper and fold it in half and then draw a fish and colour/decorate it however you like. You could also make a fish by cutting out an oval for the body of the fish, two fins and a tail. Don’t forget to add an eye and a mouth/smile. Then glue all of it together onto a folded piece of white paper. Be sure to include the phrase ----Dad or Grandpa or Uncle-you’re o-FISH-ally AWESOME!

Have fun with these ideas.
