HAPPY EARTH DAY!
Literacy
Today you will be going on an Earth Day Scavenger Hunt. Do your best to do all of
the things listed below. Have fun.
Find something that needs to be recycled.
Find a used piece of paper to draw on.
Find a light switch to turn off.
Find an electronic to turn off (tv, Ipad).
Find a recycling symbol.
Find a container you can reuse.
Find something you can compost.
Your next job is to trace one of your hands on a piece of colored paper (or anything
you have available) and then cut it out. Then, talking with an adult, think of ways
that you can lend a hand to help take care of the Earth. Write this idea on your hand
cutout or have an adult help you. Your sentence could be:
I can help take care of the Earth by……….
Math Today we will continue with more patterning. Your task is to set the table. First you will need to count how many people you have in your family. How many plates will you need? How many forks, spoons, or napkins will you need? Using these four items, set each place setting using an ABCD pattern. For example: plate, fork, spoon, napkin. You can choose whatever pattern you want. Then you can challenge yourself by removing an item and then making an ABC pattern or by adding an item and then making an ABCD pattern.
