Science Time
Objective:
To identify plant needs and compare them to human needs
Life Science:
Animals obtain food they need from plants and other animals. Plants need water, nutrients from soil, and sunlight.
Scientific Investigation:
To begin our investigation, we will be planting a seed in a pot with soil. Have fun with your choice of seed. I have planted a seed from a lemon. You can choose any seed, here are some options; orange seed, apple seed, flower seed, or dried bean. If you use a dried bean, layer five paper towels on top of each other and moisten them with water. Spread 5-10 bean seeds out on the paper towels, then fold the towels in half so the seeds are sandwiched between the moist layers. Keep the towels and seeds in a closed plastic bag in a warm area for one week. After the week, open the bag and plant the sprout about 2 cm in soil.
Make sure the seed gets water and sunlight.
